
William “Billy” Bishop

William “Billy” Bishop has always had a passion for being an electrician. He learned the electrical trade from his dad, who was also a licensed electrician. Throughout his electrical career, he has worked on everything from single-family homes and commercial buildings to industrial complexes, including phosphate mines and power plants. Billy opened Top Flight Electric in 2017 with the mission to provide customers with “First Class” electrical services. Everyone employed by the company is someone you will feel comfortable welcoming into your home.
Billy is a licensed electrical and building contractor (Florida CBC 1259217) whose life experiences have literally taken him around the world as a corporate jet pilot. He has over 8,500 flight hours and is licensed as an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP), with ratings to fly four different jet aircraft and two turbo-props. Billy spent three years in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and held a Secret Clearance with the Department of Defense (DoD). He was also a Professor of Aviation for the Aerospace Department at Polk State College for seven years.
Billy’s educational background includes an Associate’s degree in Electronic Engineering from Bauder College in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and a Bachelor of Science in Professional Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Billy has called Polk County home for over 30 years. He lives with his wife, Jessika, and their son, Rene, in Winter Haven, Florida, near their three daughters’ families, including five grandchildren.
